Start Prepping You Home for Fall and Winter

The weather is officially changing, so what better time to start prepping your home for the season to come? We’ve gathered some extra important fall home maintenance tasks to get you and your home ready for this new season.

1. Check Smoke Detectors Replace all batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout your home. Once you’ve replaced the batteries, press the test button to insure they are working properly.

2. Remove Warm Clothes from Storage The seasons will begin to change and soon you’ll be trading in your t-shirts for coats. This is a great time to sort through all of your warmer clothes and decide if you still want to keep everything you stored away. If you don’t think you’ll wear it this fall, donate it to your local thrift store.

3. Check Windows & Doors for Leaks As the year comes to a close, the weather will get colder. If your windows are not sealed properly, your home could lose lots of heat, causing your gas and heating bills to spike!

4. Organize the Garage With the hustle and bustle of the summer, the garage most likely could use some tidying up. Install some shelving or add some hooks to keep your garage more organized year-round. By checking off these extra tasks, you can ensure that your home is ready for the changing of seasons.

Preparation is key, and I am here to help you at each step! Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
